ARC2 INTERTAINMENT "Stripped" charity concert series 2005 raises funds for Medallion Housing Society and Buried Heart Society with help from local musicians and artists After the success of last year's "Stripped" Intimate & Unplugged Concert Series, a string of events promoting local live music and culminating with Vancouver's first Fashion Rocks, bringing fashion, music and art to one stage, Stripped 2005 is going to be bigger and better! Stripped 2005 is set to impress, with three live Unplugged Concerts at Ginger 62 cocktail den & kitchen, and a grand finale, Fashion Rocks Vancouver, at the Centre for Performing Arts.
The Stripped Charity Concert Series www.strippedseries.com is a non-profit, charity event dedicated to bringing awareness and much needed funds to two local charities, as net proceeds will be donated to The Buried Heart Foundation and Medallion Housing Society. Stripped Volume One
"Creative Moods", the first installment of the 2005 Stripped Concert Series will combine live music with film. On Thursday, April 7 th at Ginger 62, there will be live performances by Mani Khaira, Mary Ancheta, and Silent Alarm featuring Adrian White, Lou Rumour of The Rumours and Kristy Thirsk of Delerium performing her theme song for Red Cross, followed by the screening of two short films by Dylan Akio Smith. Man Feel Pain Toronto Film Festival winner Best Short film/Bravo Short cuts award 2004, and Galo de Barcelos: The Chicken of Portugal , Reel Fast finalist 2004.
Stripped Volume Two
" Rodeo Drive 49", the second installment will combine live music with fashion, and will take place Thursday, May 26th at Ginger 62. There will be live fashion show, promoting local fashion designers, followed by the Unplugged performances of three musical acts. This event will demonstrate how fashion and music are essential to one another.
Stripped Volume Three
"Sounds and Visions", the third installment will combine live music with art, as an art show will be displayed on the walls and throughout Ginger62, promoting local sculptures, photographers and artists, while three local bands perform live and unplugged. This event will take place Thursday, July 14th.
Stripped Volume Four
"Fashion Rocks Vancouver ", the grand finale, in association with Sensation Productions, will take place at The Centre for Performing Arts on September 25 th 2005, uniting live music with a live runway fashion and a live artistic performance all on the same stage. This revolutionary concept will allow the audience, both live and via web cast, to be amazed at what Vancouver has to offer.
By combining various forms of art, the Stripped Concert Series is hoping to attract a wider audience and expose them to the talents of local artists. The vision behind the Stripped Concert Series is to acknowledge and appreciate all facets of art in Vancouver , from fashion to music, sculpture to paint, photography to film. The Stripped Concert Series aims to bring all forms of creativity to one stage, giving Vancouverites an opportunity to bear witness to their city's artistic pulse.
