Vancouver, BC (March 28, 2005) - ARC2 INTERTAINMENT presents Stripped – Volume One, in its highly anticipated “Stripped” 2005 series - An intimate & unplugged charity concert which will feature Mary Anchetta, Mani Khaira, Silent Alarm featuring Adrian White, Lou Rumour of the Rumours, Kristy Thirsk of Delerium As well, there will be short film presentations by Dylan Akio Smith – Toronto film festival winner
“Stripped” 2005 – Volume one , will take place April 7th, 7:30 PM at our favourite cocktail lounge, Ginger Sixty Two, located at 1219 Granville Street, Vancouver. The show will be combine live music with film and also broadcast LIVE at www.arc2.tv/live
Mary Anchetta – Mary the two time winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest featuring her vocals for the track "Forever in the Sun" judged by Bjork, Elton John, and Meshell Ndegeocello with over 250, 000 entries. With all of this inspiration and more to build on, Mary is now ready to release her highly anticipated debut album, “Live Life”.
Mani Khaira – When listening to Mani's stunning debut "Arrived," one feels as though they are leafing through Mani's personal journals. His vocal is real and honest and draws the listener in; Mani spent the year touring and promoting "Arrived" and he is back finished recording a 7-track EP “Constant Replay” with all brand new material.
Silent Alarm – Silent Alarm began in 03 during the sold out North American Delerium tour with Kristy Thirsk, Shelley Harland being the voices of Delerium and Adrian white the back beat on drums. Adrian wrote/produced the first songs with Shelley and soon after with Kristy. Now with Louise Rumour on keyboard. Silent Alarm full length debut CD will be out fall 05.
Kristy Thirsk will be performing her new single “I Know You Are Out There” a theme song for RED CROSS
Dylan Akio Smith – Two of Dylan's previous short films, The Bug and Imeta ca nine have garnered special attention. The former winning three 2003 Leo Awards, a Golden Sheaf for Best Comedy in Yorkton 2003, and a special mention for Best Director at the Vancouver International Film Festival 2002. Imeta ca nine took top honors at the Reel Fast 48 hour film festival in 2003. For Stripped Volume One, Dylan will be presenting his latest short films, Man in Pain (Toronto Film Festival winner Best Short film/ Bravo Short cuts award 2004), and Galo de Barcelos (finalist 2004 Reelfast Film Festival).
While Arc2 continues to support local musicians and artists, with the “Stripped” series, it will also bring awareness and maintain its aid to local charities. Net proceeds of the event will be donated to the Buried Heart Society, a non-profit organization that provides support and funding to service providers assisting women and youth on the Downtown Eastside, and Medallion Housing Society , which provides mentorship and funds housing for single parent families.
