Featuring – Beverly Staunton, Chantal Richard, Mark Durland and MosEisley – Sweatshop Union.
Special Guests – Warren Flandez and Tamara Rhodes
MosEisley (Sweatshop Union) - As a member of the Juno nominated hip-hop group Sweatshop Union, MosEisley can be found rocking crowds with words of social change. Writer, rhymer and poet, you will hear MosEisley speak about his life experiences growing up in the Middle East, Germany, Los Angeles and Vancouver. His lyrics impart his unique outlook on the world from the eyes of the working class and the need to share the value of choice.
Beverley Staunton – With music rich with a blend of influences – from R&B to straight-up Top 40, Beverley is a powerhouse with vocals. Heard on recordings by the likes of Jessica Simpson, Jim Brickman, CoCo Lee, and Bette Midler, she’s also recorded a solo album entitiled “Here’s To You”, celebrating great jazz standards of yesteryear. Having toured with Amanda Marshall, written and recorded with Randy Bachman, she was most recently a back-up singer for Nelly Furtado, she’s ready to break out on her own.
Chantal Richard - Chantal’s music spans the celtic flavours of Loreena McKennitt to the emotional powerhouse ragings of artists like Holly McNarland and Evanescence. Before her CD was even completed, three of the songs have been licensed to the new movie “Love Me Not” to be released internationally in summer 2004. The debut CD was co-produced by Chantal and Genie nominated producer Sean Eyre. She is independently releasing her debut CD “Ashes to Water” in 2004 and planning to build enough momentum to encourage label interest.
Mark Durland - Before his CD was even manufactured, two of the songs had already been licensed to the new Canadian film “Love Me Not,” where the film became interested in his song, “I For A Moment.” His debut CD “Almost There” expresses the depth and poetic quandaries of a songwriter in search of answers about love, life, death and even world disasters as in the poignant “September”.
